How to Everify Income Tax Return with Kotak Bank

Indian taxation department has increased the tax filing date till 5th-August-2017 which is a good news for people who are yet to file their tax returns. And every year Tax department is making the tax filing lot easier. Last year we have the option to verify the ITR by getting an OTP with the Aadhaar card mapped to our account. But there are many people who still either don't have Aadhaar card or their phone number is not mapped to the Aadhaar Card.

This year government has added a new option to e-verify the tax return by the option of Net banking. These days almost everyone has access to net banking. If not, then we need to send the ITR submitted acknowledgement to CPC Bangalore office with in 120 days of  filing ITR. But the easiest way to verify the ITR is by verifying through Net Banking. We'll talk about Kotak Bank here (as option from Private banks ) because most of the websites are showing it through the SBI (Public banks) online banking .

As a pre-requisite, make sure your ITS is filled and it's waiting for E-Verification part only.

Step A:

Login to Kotak Internet Banking and then either go to "Banking" Section or there is an option with name "More" as shown below. 

Step B:

Select the option of "eTAX" from the drop-down and then select the option "E-Filing" (Income Tax) and below screen should be displayed.

 Step C:

Verify that your account number and the PAN cards details are correct and click on Submit. You will be taken to Income tax Website.
 

 

Step D:

Select the "View Returns/ Forms " option to open the tax returns already filed.

Step E:

Select the option "Click here to view your returns pending for e-verification"

Step F:

Select the Option "e-Verify"

Almost Done: A New pop-up window appears. Click on "Continue" to generate EVC and get your income tax verified.

You will get the confirmation message with transaction ID and EVC code. You can download the acknowledgement and also it will be emailed to you.

No need to submit the physical ITR-V to CPC Bangalore.
